I can see that the 20/20 season has started on Sky and also that its a topic of talk around the leagues and on here.
Murton Cricket Club have decided to try and run its own competition. The club has put forward a starting prize money of £400.
The competition is open only to Coast Leagues teams, this should give all clubs the incentive to think "We Can Win This"
Entry fee is £50, with all these fees being pumped back into the prize money. If we get 8 teams entering then the prize money will be £800, how its paid out we be the choice of the clubs entering.
We will look to have preliminary games played prior to a "Finals Day" which will be held some time towards the end of August.(At Murton of course!!)
The competition is a straight knock-out cup and will be played using the 20/20 rules. Further rules and things can be sorted out if we get a good response.
If any clubs are interested can they please email me and we can see where this goes.
8 teams entering will give a prize money of £800, hopefully that should have teams chomping at the bit.
I will let this idea ride till Friday 20th June and see what response comes.
