Vic v Engineers 'A' Result 27/10/2008Bad night for the Vic as we were humbled against an Engineers side who played much better than their lowly league position suggested. The Vic played as expected of our current league position.
Kev Cunningham lost to T Steel in the opening leg. Steel clearly suffering from dartitis, played Kev who has experienced similar throwing difficulties of his own but Steel showed his mettle by comfortably despatching Kev who was completely out of sorts.
Craig Greenfield played D Brown in leg 2 and Brown played a really good leg with Craig struggling to keep up. Brown finished the leg with an excellent 114 finish on double 6.
Geordie Jennings played R Noble in the next leg and George got the Vic on the board with an unconvincing win.
Iggy played A Johnson in leg 4 and the away player took an easy leg with Ian struggling for consistency.
Stevie Burton played R McGhin in the next leg and McGhin hit 2 tons and 3 60s with his opening throws to leave Burton way back. McGhin then faltered on his doubles to allow Burton to get a shot at double top but McGhin took out double 1 to take another leg for the away team.
Steve Kell lost to P Punshon in the next leg.
Tommy Cummings took the last leg against Brian Carr and Brian was struggling to get used to his new vari-focal glasses. I'm no optician but binoculars would probably be a better option for Brian after he's sunk a few beers
Dominoes suffered a defeat too as Bobby Balls lost to A Johnson in the opening leg. George Jennings won the next game against B Carr and the downs continued to have the advantage as Les Graham lost to T Steel in leg 3.
Tucker Muncaster used the advantage of having the down to level the match but Ian Graham lost to R Noble in the decider to leave the score at 3-2 to the away team.
